Dominai M. Ford, a 28-year-old Louisville resident joined Master Builders Academy in 2014. Ford didn't know at first the impact that Master Builders Academy would have on her life, but she set out to support the mission and align herself with like-minded individuals.

"Sometimes you have to step out into the unknown and work with what you have," Ford said.

Stepping out and betting on herself has landed Ford some great return. Shortly after joining Master Builders Academy Ford established Posh Doomz, LLC and went on to open a store-front business in the heart of Downtown, Louisville. Ford's passion for fashion, and wanting women of all sizes to feel beautiful was the full she needed to continue moving forward through obstacles.

"Running a business is hard, let alone running a store front," Ford said. Yet, she persisted. "Although it was tough I never gave up," she said.

In 2016, Ford launched a website to support her business. The Posh Doomz brand continued to grow and in 2017 Ford's boutique fashions were featured in local fashion shows, like Curves for A Cause.

With Momentum building, and the support of the board and other members of Master Builders Ford continued looking for ways to establish a financial future for herself. She began to partner with local photographers, models and make-up artist and successfully was published in a few magazines.

In 2018, Ford expanded her Posh Doomz brand by offering thrift styling services.

"Not only should all women have clothes that make them feel beautiful," Ford said. "No matter your budget you too should feel beautiful," she said.

With support and commitment Ford landed herself one of the greatest accomplishments to date. Ford's fashions were featured in New York Fashion Week in 2019.

Now Ford, has started another business venture, an extension of the Posh Doomz brand that offers household goods. The Posh Doomz Home Collection is a business that sells handmade soy candles, wax melts, essential oil sprays, and soy hand soaps.

Ford embodies what it means to be a Master Builder. She shows us that those who are willing and motivated will see their dreams become reality, and those realities will return the income invested into her future.

Dominai believes that Master Builders Academy was the catalyst for her growth.

"People often think they can be 'self-made' and need no one, but I know for a fact Master Builders has helped me and encouraged me every step of the way in this journey," Ford said.
